The FIA has now began an investigation as Felipe Massa began the Belgian Grand Prix slight ahead of his glot slot. This error was picked up by video footage that appeared on the internet.
The Brazilian’s wrong positioning is in breach of the regulations, but the marshals and the electronic system in place on the grid did not detect this, so race director Charlie Whiting could not act on the breach.

Last time around in 2008, Lewis Hamilton had visited the Hakone karting track in Mumbai in 2008. After that, the young British driver had come down to New Delhi for an event on cricket which was again a Vodafone event. This time around, Vodafone India is running a contest for its customers, where-in the winner will get a to become the co-driver of Lewis Hamilton, when he will drive around the Chennai track.
After a P1 and a DNF at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team travels to another of the historic Formula One venues: the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. Once again, the Woking-based outfit will be pushing for victory next weekend.

Red Bull Racing’s Formula One car completed 14 laps of the all-new Korean Grand Prix circuit today, as part of an event called ‘Circuit Run 2010’. Four thousand spectators travelled to the new track for the event, which included an F1 car driving round the circuit for the first time. The event also included demonstration laps by a Formula BMW and some Korean touring cars.
Former Red Bull Junior Team member Karun Chandok drove the Red Bull Racing car, as the team‘s regular drivers were unavailable due to other commitments. “It’s a really interesting layout”, Karun said after the run.

The next stopover for the 2010 Formula 1 Championship is at the historical Italian Grand Prix in Monza. It is also the last race in Europe, where Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team has demonstrated it is a reliable team that improves and fights for positions race after race.

Lewis Hamilton went on to win the 2010 Belgian Grand Prix. The young British driver got into the lead from the start of the race, as Mark Webber had a bad start. Lewis Hamilton was leading the race, when the struggling Jenson Button limping in the second position due to a damaged front wing. This helped Mclaren as Lewis Hamilton opened up a gap between him and his team-mate.

Spa Francorchamps, Belgium’s oldest and most famous circuit, hosted the first Belgian Grand Prix in 1950 and went on to do so through to 1970. The long high speed track was the brainchild of Jules de Their and Henri Langlois Van Ophem, using the three main roads that linked the Ardennes towns of Malmedy, Stavelot and Francorchamps.

In the heat of the Hungaroring, Mark and Sebastian were emphatic in their three sessions. Seb was fastest in the first session, Mark second quickest. Our Australian was top in Q2 and Vettel right behind him, then in the deciding session Sebastian broke the 1.19 barrier, recording a lap time of 1:18.773 to take pole with Mark right beside him on the front row after posting a best of 1:19.184.

The Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is happy with the slow cars running on the track and he went out to say that slow cars should be allowed to race. Fernando Alonso’s had a fair chance to win the Canadian Grand Prix last weekend and he lost momentum behind back markers.

Mercedes’ Nick Fry has rebuffed criticism aimed at Michael Schumacher after the Canadian Grand Prix and insists the seven-time champion is still on a par with team-mate Nico Rosberg.
Schumacher qualified 13th and finished 11th in Montreal, after a promising start to the race unravelled with a puncture midway through. Put onto a compromised strategy, he then defended his position very aggressively, attracting flak from a number of experienced on lookers. (more…)
