The Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is happy with the slow cars running on the track and he went out to say that slow cars should be allowed to race. Fernando Alonso’s had a fair chance to win the Canadian Grand Prix last weekend and he lost momentum behind back markers.
Luca di Montezemolo told Gazzetta dello Sport, “Cars who perform at GP2-level should not be allowed to participate in F1 races because they are supposed to race on Sunday morning. Our car’s race pace was good enough for victory. Let’s hope that, in the future, there won’t be mistakes in pushing a button nor in lapping cars that put us at a disadvantage, because we’ve already gone through that.”
On many occasions, the Ferrari boss has suggested the big teams should run three cars rather than allowing smaller teams to operate.
