All currently competing teams have committed to the FIA Formula One World Championship. There will be no alternative series or championship and the rules for 2010 onwards will be the 2009 regulations as well as further regulations agreed prior to 29 April 2009. As part of this agreement, the teams will, within two years, reduce the costs of competing in the championship to the level of the early 1990s. The manufacturer teams have agreed to assist the new entries for 2010 by providing technical assistance.

After hearing rumours for months, now its been said that Fernando Alonso could be confirmed by Ferrari during the Monza weekend. The Spanish newspaper Diario AS said so and also reported it to be a five year contract.

Kimi Raikkonen is filling in his quiet weekends by rallying, having already done three this year.  However he has now taken the big step up to the WRC with his home rally to be held at the end of July.

Kimi will again try his hand on Fiat Abarth Grande Punto S2000, with Kaj Lindstrom alongside.

Ferrari are soon going scrap all the developments on their 2009 car and are intend to concentrate on developing the 2010 challenger,FIAT president Luca Di Montezemelo insists.

"I am confident that we can improve our performance into the next race,But it is going to be difficult if not impossible to dramatically change the car within this season without any tests.” President Luca di Montezemolo told RTL.

The FIA President Max Mosley has discontinued the legal actions which the FIA had taken against the FOTA. Max Mosley now understands the seriousness of the FOTA and is open to talk to FOTA about the budget.
